For Faculty

The First-Year Odyssey (FYO) Seminar Program is the University of Georgia's signature academic program for all incoming first-year students.

If you haven't already taught an FYO seminar, consider submitting a proposal to teach one.

FYO Great Opportunity Image
FYO is a great opportunity to introduce yourself, your discipline, and your research to our students who enjoy these small classes.

It's also a good way for you to get to know our students, help prepare them for academic success at UGA, and foster that sense of belonging that we know is so important.

Faculty Resources

The program has guidelines and resources to help you design an academically engaging seminar that will enrich both the students' experience and yours.

Before every semester, the program will send out an email to all eligible faculty inviting them to submit a proposal for the following semester.
